JEE MAIN 2015 Result Analysis

A total of 1,52,401 candidates have qualified for JEE Advanced.
Cut off for JEE (Advanced):
Category: Cut off
General: 105
OBC-NCL: 70
SC: 50
ST: 44
The cutoff has surprisingly dipped by 10 marks  as compared to last year. Physics was the chief reason I feel for this lower cutoff but such drop indicates the lack of enthusiasm towards serious studies, a trend that is emerging due to increased penetration of internet and social media in all spheres of our lives.
Many students are complaining that marks calculated from OMR are different from what's displayed but that's the way it goes.
To all successful candidates good luck for JEE ADVANCED and for those who couldn't make up don't worry and try to find a better field of study for yourself .

JEE MAIN 2015: DETAILED ANALYSIS OF PHYSICS PAPER

(Question number reference is from code A of paper)
http://www.rgacademy.co.in/phy_jm_15.pdf

  • Paper had 13 questions from XI and 17 from XII Syllabus
  • I have segregated questions in 3 categories: Single star, Double and Triple Star.
  • 9 questions falls in single star category(2 from XI and 7 from XII Syllabus)
  • These are namely Q 4,12,17,18,21,26,27,28,29.
  • 14 falls in double star category(7 each from XI and XII Syllabus)
  • These are namely Q 1,2,3,8,9,10,13,14,15,16,19,20,22,24.
  • 7 falls in triple star category (4 from XI and 3 from XII syllabus)
  • These are namely Q 5,6,7,11,23,25,30.
Hence forth I feel anyone getting 16+ net  questions right i.e a score of 64 is a nice score and for top slots 23-25 questions must be correct i.e 90+ marks is a very good score in this paper .
Do share your feedback on the paper in the comments below.

JEE MAIN 2015 ANALYSIS AND CUTOFF FOR ADVANCED

Expected Cutoff: 120-125

The Paper was on the expected lines and hence I feel there will be some increase in the cutoff. Last year it was 32%.

PHYSICS: Toughest as it was in 2014. Level was much beyond NCERT and Board level.
CHEMISTRY: As always easiest and very much scoring.
MATHS: As per the trend. Some questions were almost lifted from previous years papers.

ALL IN ALL A BALANCED PAPER.
