JEE ADVANCED 2014 Cut Off marks for Councelling
The JEE Advanced 2014 cut offs used to determine candidates qualifying JEE Advanced 2014 entrance exam have been declared. The cut offs have been declared for each category and the Common Merit List.
Only candidates scoring marks above the qualifying marks for their respected category will be able to participate in the admission counselling process.
Cut-off marks:
1. Common Merit List (CML) candidates: 152 marks
2. OBC (NCL) candidates: 117 marks
3. SC candidates: 74 marks
4. ST candidates: 63 marks
5. PwD candidates: 63 marks
6. Preparatory candidates: 53 marks

JEE Advanced results 2014 were declared recently with approximately 21 per cent of the candidates passing the exam. Around 1.26 lakh candidates registered for the JEE Advanced 2014 examination with a total of 27,151 candidates passing the examination.
From the 27,151 candidates qualifying the exam, 19,416 candidates are from the common merit list, 6,000 candidates are on the OBC (NCL) merit list, 4,400 candidates are on the SC merit list and 1,250 candidates are on the ST merit list. Those candidates who did not submit their category certificates by May 31 have been counted in the Common Merit List.
Chitrang Murdia of Rajasthan topped the JEE Advanced 2014 exam by securing 334 marks from the 360 maximum marks, an increase from the JEE Advanced 2013 topper who had secured 332 marks.
Among girls, Aditi from the IIT Roorkee zone has secured the seventh rank.
The JEE Advanced 2014 exam, held on May 25, consisted of two papers each with three sections: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The questions were in the form of objective-type multiple choice questions and each paper had to be completed within three hours duration.
A total of 9,784 seats are available across the various Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and ISM Dhanbad.

JEE ADVANCED RESULTS DECLARED: Chitrang from Rajasthan tops the exam
The results of Joint Entrance Exam (JEE advanced) for admission to 16 Indian Institutes of Technology and Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad was announced on Thursday.
Chitraang Murdia is the topper of JEE (Advanced) – 2014 who belongs to Rajasthan under IIT Delhi zone. He has secured 334 out of a total of 360 marks. Aditi from IIT Roorkee zone is the topper amongst female candidates securing an All India Rank of of 7. There are five female candidates amongst the top 100 rankers.
A total of 27,151 candidates out of 1,26,997 registered, have qualified the examination with 19,416 in common merit list,---6000 in OBC (NCL), 4400 SC and 1250 ST merit lists. A total of 243 candidates who are persons with disability (PWD) have qualified the examination.
Compared to 2013,--3500 more candidates have qualified with an increase of qualified candidates in all categories. The joint implementation committee of JEE (Advanced) – 2014 has decided to allow twice the number in each category to fill choices for various undergraduate courses in IITs and ism. The choice filling portal will be operative from June 20 till June 24.
There are a total of 9,784 seats and around 19,000 have been shortlisted.

OMG!!!! MBBS-in-Tamil-Nadu-colleges-to-cost-up-to-Rs-1-crore
Getting a medical degree can leave your finances in a critical condition — private medical universities and colleges in Tamil Nadu have raised their tuition fees for MBBS admissions this year. A student starting MBBS this year will have to pay an average of up to Rs 1crore — Rs 35 lakh to Rs 50 lakh as tuition fee and up to Rs 50 lakh in cash as capitation fee.
Sri Ramachandra Medical University, Chennai, has announced that its annual tuition fee for MBBS is Rs 9lakh per year and SRM University will charge Rs 7 lakh a year. In other colleges, the fee is between Rs 3 lakh and Rs 5 lakh. But this does not include charges for library, laboratory, mess or hostel.
"I have been told that I will have to pay at least Rs 50 lakh as tuition fee for the five years. There are other expenses such as fees for seminars and books," said Ramesh Kumar, who secured 98.7% in Class 12. If he manages to get a seat in a government medical college, the tuition fee would be Rs 11,500 a year but he said he's unlikely to get a seat there because of the 69% caste-based reservation system followed in Tamil Nadu.
"Most private colleges ask for Rs 40 lakh as capitation fee. I will be the first-generation doctor in my family, but I am not sure we can afford it," he said. After doing some maths, his mother Kalyani R, a banker, asked him to opt for an engineering course which will cost them far less. The family will have to spend close to Rs 1 crore for an MBBS degree and Ramesh will start at a salary of Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000 in a private hospital.
Every year, as per a Supreme Court order, a committee appointed by the state government reviews the tuition fee charged by private colleges affiliated to the state medical university. Committee members say they can only review tuition fee and not other charges. Also, deemed universities are out of their purview.
In the last five years, tuition fee alone has increased by 25% in most private medical colleges. The rise is steeper in deemed universities. A former health secretary, on condition of anonymity, said letters were sent to the government urging it to bring deemed universities under the purview of the committee, but no action was taken.
Officials in the health department said they have not been able to control the rise in fee because the overheads for running a medical college are extremely high. Students' associations said high fee structure not only increases cost of healthcare, but leads to young doctors adopting unethical practices. Dr G R Ravindranth of Doctors' Association for Social Equality, said, "Young doctors end up prescribing needless medication and tests to earn more money," he said.

RPMT: गड़बड़झाले से बच्चों का भविस्य दाँव पर
राजस्थान मेडिकल यूनिवर्सिटी की ओर से अधूरे संसाधनों और आनन फानन में पहली बार ऑनलाइन कराई आरपीएमटी परीक्षा विद्यार्थियों के लिए आफत बन गई है। आन्सर की में 59 सवालों के उत्तर गलत देने के बदले छात्रों को मंगलवार शाम दिए बोनस अंकों में भारी घालमेल सामने आया है। 28, 29 और 30 मई को हुई परीक्षा में 44,000 छात्र बैठे थे, जिनके लिए पूरे कंप्यूटर न होने के बावजूद परीक्षा ऑनलाइन कराई गई।
इससे परीक्षा 6 बैच में हुई और हर बार अलग पेपर आया। कभी कठिन, कभी आसान। 29 मई के स्लॉट एक में आयोजित इस बैच की परीक्षा में शामिल अभ्यर्थियों को प्रति प्रश्न चार अंकों के हिसाब से एकमुश्त 76 अंक मुफ्त में मिल गए। 28 मई को स्लॉट एक में आयोजित बैच के अभ्यर्थियों को बोनस अंक के रूप में मात्र 16 ही अंक ही मिले हैं।
विद्यार्थियों और अभिभावकों का तर्क है कि बोनस अंकों का प्रावधान एक ही बैच में आयोजित परीक्षा में होना चाहिए। अलग-अलग में होने की स्थिति में गलत प्रश्नों को निकालकर शेष प्रश्नों में प्राप्त किए अंकों के आधार पर नंबर दिए जाने चाहिए, न कि एकमुश्त। इस बारे में अभ्यर्थी यूनिवर्सिटी से संपर्क करते रहे, लेकिन कोई संतोषजनक जवाब नहीं मिला।
विश्वसनीयता पर इसलिए बड़े सवाल
कंप्यूटर पूरे न होने के कारण परीक्षा 6 बैच में हुई, जिससे स्केलिंग फॉर्मूला अपनाना पड़ा
स्केलिंग फॉर्मूला भी वही अपनया जो पहले से ही विवादों में है।
यूनिवर्सिटी ने फॉर्मूले के संबंध में भी पूरी पारदर्शिता नहीं बरती।
एआईपीएमटी जैसी परीक्षा में ओएमआरशीट दी गई, लेकिन इसमें नहीं दी गई।
बोनस अंकों में असमानता से परीक्षा सवालों के घेरे में।
प्रदेश भर के हजारों विद्यार्थियों एवं अभिभावकों में भारी रोष है।
नहीं मिला कोई माकूल जवाब
यूनिवर्सिटी के कुलपति डॉ.राजाबाबू पंवार से उनके दफ्तर, मोबाइल नंबर और उनके निजी सचिव के जरिये संपर्क की कोशिश की गई, लेकिन उनसे संपर्क नहीं हो सका। परीक्षा संयोजक डॉ.डी.के.गुप्ता का फोन देर रात तक स्विच ऑफ आता रहा।
हल ऎसे संभव
यूनिवर्सिटी को सभी विद्यार्थियों को समानीकरण फॉर्मूला अपनाते हुए एक से नंबर देने चाहिए। जिससे समाधान हो सकता है।
