Hi Siddharth
ReplyDeleteI have been following your nice comments on Dr. Sanghi's blogs. Basically, I am the person who wrote the second article about how both CBSE and ICSE had very wierd and tampered distributions of scores. If it is possible, please could you share or point people to that study on my website?
http://www.thelearningpoint.net/home/examination-results-2013/exposing-cbse-and-icse
I mean, CBSE has not responded to the news papers and maybe they expect the issue to just die down (which it will).
If more people are made aware of the realities, maybe there's a chance someone might rethink a high dependency on board examination scores.
It is perfectly fine to consider several performances of a student before arriving at his rank as this methodology takes consistent performance into account. This obviates and helps the system avoid the advantages or disadvantages of having one good day or one terrible day in examinations. The current system envisaged by Kapil Sibal is a perfect blend of consistent performances of a student.
