JEE MAIN 2015 Result Analysis

A total of 1,52,401 candidates have qualified for JEE Advanced.
Cut off for JEE (Advanced):
Category: Cut off
General: 105
OBC-NCL: 70
SC: 50
ST: 44
The cutoff has surprisingly dipped by 10 marks  as compared to last year. Physics was the chief reason I feel for this lower cutoff but such drop indicates the lack of enthusiasm towards serious studies, a trend that is emerging due to increased penetration of internet and social media in all spheres of our lives.
Many students are complaining that marks calculated from OMR are different from what's displayed but that's the way it goes.
To all successful candidates good luck for JEE ADVANCED and for those who couldn't make up don't worry and try to find a better field of study for yourself .

First of all, CBSE made an erroneous answer key. Answers of about 20 marks were wrong so if we think logically, cut off has increased by 10 marks as last year CBSE had accepted the claims of students. If you think that students are actually putting less efforts as compared to the students 7-8 years back then just pick up an AIEEE paper from 2002-2008. The cutoff is same near about but the level of paper has increased exponentially. Also 5 years back CS in BITS Pilani was an easy affair for a student getting 340 marks but until last year it has increased to 375 and can be expected to go 380 this year. Please do not be so irresponsible while analyzing papers!!

    1. It very easy to throw stones. I strongly oppose claims of 20 marks mistake in keys. Regarding your questions of cutoff in previous years I will like to tell you the number of aspirants appearing after taking specialised coaching has increased hugely in these years. Also in all cities one or two specialised JEE coaching centres are there which was not the case. Plus papers are getting predictable because of too many brainy people in coaching business now. Even from class VI some people are taking coaching for exams and then also the cutoff remaining at 105 is what disturbs me. Regarding BITSAT just look at data of number of students giving BITSAT now plus people previously were not aware much about pattern of this exam but now you have specialised books and test series to let you prepare.

Respected Sir, I have got 180 marks in JEE Main 2015 and had got 95% in CBSE last year. I am aiming for CS in any of the top 10 NITs. I am from Udaipur so MNIT, NIT Surat, NIT Bhopal will be top choice for me. I am not interested in IITs as I know that I won't be able to get CS in any of the IITs. Please predict my AIR also
