JEE Mains 2014: Class 12 students can apply for new exam slot if exam dates clash
Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), set to conduct the JEE Mains 2014 examination, has announced that Class 12 candidates appearing for Board examinations and JEE Mains 2014 computer based exams with clashing dates can be allotted alternative JEE Mains exam dates. Last date for application is March 25, 2014. The option released initially by CBSE in January 2014, with last date of application January 17, 2014 has been brought back upon receiving multiple requests from Class 12 students.
Class 12 candidates with clashing Board exam dates and JEE Mains 2014 computer based exam dates are required to send a copy of their Class 12 admit card with their JEE Main 2014 application number by email to the given JEE Mains email id by March 25, 2014. The application for a new computer based exam date for JEE Mains 2014 should be sent only by email; applications/admit card copies sent by post will not be considered.

The JEE (Joint Entrance Exam) Mains is used for admission to undergraduate Engineering and Architecture courses. The top 1.5 lakh students will be eligible to attempt the JEE Advanced exam, used for admission to the IITs. Two papers are available under JEE Mains: Paper I for B Tech and Paper II for B Arch. While Paper I is available in online and offline formats, Paper II is available only in pen and paper mode.
Although JEE Mains offers both online and offline based examinations the offline exam format has been more popular. From the total 13.56 lakh candidates having registered for the JEE Mains 2014 exam, only 1.71 lakh candidates have registered for the computer based exam format.

JEE MAIN ADMIT CARD DELAYED AGAIN
Downloading of admit cards for CBSE Joint Entrance Examination (JEE ) Main 2014 is postponed to March 12, 2014 according to the official website
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi had earlier issued a notice for the aspirants this year to download the admit card from the official website of JEE Main (http://jeemain.nic.in) on March 10.
Candidates who have successfully submitted their application forms attaining a "Received" status on the website, can download their admit cards. Candidates are advised to verify their signature, photo and other details on the admit card and email at id-jeemain@nic.in. in case of any error with the admit card.
CBSE JEE Main 2014 offline examination will start on April, 06 and computer-based online examination will take place through 09, 11, 12 and April 19, 2014. JEE Main 2014 examination is conducted for admission to undergraduate Engineering programmes in NITs, IIITs and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions etc.
Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Mains 2014 candidates will be required to submit a hard copy of their Class 12 qualifying mark sheet or admit card for the candidates writing board exams this year, on the day of the exam, to the invigilator at the exam centre before the beginning of the exam.
The JEE is conducted in two phases, namely Mains and Advanced.
JEE Mains score is used for admissions to undergraduate engineering programmes in NITs, IIITs and other centrally funded technical institutions in India and other participating Institutions. The merit/rank list shall be prepared based on 40% weightage to school boards' marks in class 12th or equivalent examination and 60% weightage to JEE(Main).
