JEE ADVANCED ONLINE REGISTRATIONS TO BEGIN ON 8 MAY

JEE (Advanced) - 2013 Online Registration

This year onwards, admissions to undergraduate programmes at all IITs and ISM, Dhanbad, will be through the JEE (Advanced) examination. This year, it will be held on Sunday, 2 June, 2013.

Eligibility to appear in JEE(Advanced) examination will be decided by the candidates’ score in the JEE(Main) examination, which will be known by 7th May, 2013.  Only the top 1,50,000  candidates (including all categories)  who qualify in Paper -  I   of JEE (Main) - 2013  will be eligible to appear for JEE (Advanced) - 2013.

To write JEE (Advanced) - 2013 all eligible candidates should register online at [http://jeeadvonline.iitd.ac.in/] OR [http://jeeadv.iitd.ac.in/] during 8 May to 13 May, 2013.

After online registration, candidates must pay the registration fee as applicable through challan (generated during registration process) of all SBI branches having core banking solution (CBS) on or before 14 May, 2013. The candidate will be able to pay the fees at the SBI branch one day after the online registration. The fee for GE and OBC(NCL) male candidates is Rs.1800/-. The fee for SC, ST, PwD male candidates is Rs. 900/-. There is no fee for female candidates of all categories. Registration is complete only after the payment.

After successful registration and payment of prescribed fee through bank, the candidates can download their admit card for JEE (Advanced) - 2013 from 15 May to 31 May, 2013. Only those candidates, who carry valid downloaded Admit Cards to the examination hall, will be allowed to write the examination.

At the examination hall, the downloaded admit card should be presented to the invigilators for verification.  The original admit card for the JEE (Advanced) - 2013 will be issued to the candidates in the respective examination centre on the day of examination after verifying their candidature. The original Admit Card should be carefully preserved till the admission process through JEE (Advanced) - 2013 is completed.

Mission IIT : Rethink about your school board before getting admission in class XI

So you have just appeared X examinations and now preparing(or have given) for entserance cum scholarship exams of different coaching institute to get yourself rolling on the path leading to IITs.
Keeping in mind the new JEE admission into IITs is not that a concern but if you lack a bit then NITs are also a good option.So keeping this in mind that admission into NITs will have 40% weightage to normalised class XII marks. As Mr. Dheeraj Sanghi points out in one of his posts
"But a much worse situation is in NIT admission where the two students with the same academic preparation will be at different relative level if they are in two different boards, and will get different normalized marks. The student in the better board will be at a lower relative level within his/her board, and hence will get lower normalized marks and hence would be strongly discriminated against in the admissions to NITs.

If we accept all this, and if this is indeed what is going to continue in 2014 and beyond, then it makes sense for the parents to put their wards in schools which are affiliated to the boards where students have had poorer academic preparation. In particular, this implies that it would be beneficial to join a state board over CBSE for most states. (I am not aware of any state board whose students perform better than students from CBSE schools in various competitive and other independent exams.)

So it would be a better decision to take admission in a board which comprises mainly of rural and government schools so that you can have a better percentile for similar performance. Say in rajasthan it would be prudent to take admission in a RBSE school then a CBSE one.
It sounds absurd first but if you think and analyze it can be  a helpful step into shaping your career.

RPET 2013: ONLINE APPLICATION STARTS FROM TODAY

The Board of Technical Education Rajasthan, Jodhpur conducts Rajasthan Pre Engineering Test for admission in engineering colleges of Rajasthan state. This examination conducts by Board of Technical Education Rajasthan(BTER), Jodhpur every year.
